A class C1 driving licence lets you drive a light truck (3500–7500 kg) privately. For commercial freight transport you also need the professional driver qualification (YSK) — initial training plus 35 hours of continued training every five years. Prøve.no offers a YSK test.
Can I take the theory test for light truck in English or another language?

You can apply for an adapted test, for example with audio support, extended time or an interpreter. Where and how do I take the theory test?

Are any aids handed out at the class C1 theory test?
At the test station you are handed a calculator, scrap paper and a pen or pencil for the calculation questions. Unlike class C, no road list (vegliste) is handed out at the C1 test – the weight questions are solved with plain arithmetic from figures you are given, such as those in the registration card. Your own aids are not allowed, except a dictionary.
Do I need a medical certificate for a class C1 licence?
Yes. Class C1 has group 2 health requirements, and you must provide a medical certificate from a doctor both the first time and at every renewal. The licence is issued for up to 5 years at a time. From age 66 it is issued at most until the day before you turn 71, and after 70 it is renewed one year at a time. You never re-sit the theory test at renewal — a new medical certificate is all that is needed.
