How many errors can you have on the moped theory test?

You can have a maximum of 5 errors out of 30 questions on the class AM146 theory test, meaning you need to answer at least 25 of 30 correctly. The pass threshold is the same at Statens vegvesen.

How long does the moped theory test take?

You have 90 minutes for the class AM146 theory test at Statens vegvesen. Most candidates finish in 30–45 minutes, but take your time — there is no bonus for finishing early.

How many questions are on the moped theory test?

The class AM146 theory test has 30 questions covering traffic rules, road signs, moped-specific rules, lane positioning, protective gear, vehicle technology, first aid and risk awareness.

How much does the moped theory test cost?

Statens vegvesen charges a fee for the theory test; you can find the current price on vegvesen.no. In addition there are mandatory training and the practical driving test.

Can I take the moped theory test in English or another language?

Statens vegvesen offers the theory test in Norwegian, English, Sami, Urdu, Sorani and Arabic. Prøve.no has practice questions in Norwegian, English, Ukrainian, Polish and Arabic, so you can practise in the same language you will sit the test in.

What is the minimum age for a class AM146 driving licence?

The minimum age for a moped (class AM146) is 16. The age limits are set in the driving licence regulation (førerkortforskriften).

What happens if I fail the theory test?

If you fail the theory test, you must wait two weeks before taking a new theory test at Statens vegvesen.

How long is the theory test valid?

Once you have passed the theory test, you must pass the practical driving test within three years. If you do not, you must take the theory test again.

Where and how do I take the theory test?

You take the theory test at a traffic station (trafikkstasjon). You book an appointment on vegvesen.no after applying for a driving licence, and you must show valid ID. There is a fee for the test.
