Prøve.no has a new design

One design, all the way through

Prøve.no has been growing for over twenty years, and it showed: pages were built at different times, and small things like buttons, cards and headings looked slightly different from one page to the next. The whole site is now built from the same parts. The front page, the test pages, the checkout and Min side use the same buttons, the same colours and the same spacing.

That may sound like decoration, but it is really something else: you no longer have to learn the site again every time you go somewhere new.

Readable mode – on every single page

"Readable mode" gives you larger text and a simpler layout. You used to have to go looking for it; now it is a switch at the top of every page, and your choice follows you around.

The site also follows the light or dark setting from your phone or computer, without you having to set anything.

The test fills the screen – not the other way round

The test itself got the most attention, because that is where you spend your time.

• The question, all the answer options and "Check answer" are visible at the same time on an ordinary laptop. You should not have to scroll to see what you can answer.
• The illustration scales to the space that is left, instead of pushing the options down.
• The question list sits in its own column, so you can see how far you have come and jump back.

Carry on where you left off

If you are in the middle of a test, it sits at the top of the front page on a card of its own: which test it is, how many questions you have left, and one button to continue. That test's row in the list below says the same thing, so you never have to wonder whether you are starting over.

Five languages, including when the script runs the other way

Everything is available in Norwegian, English, Ukrainian, Polish and Arabic. The Arabic version is now mirrored properly – numbers, phone numbers and prices read the right way round even though the rest of the text runs from right to left.

The apps are next

The iPhone, iPad and Android apps are getting the same design. The updates have been submitted and will arrive as soon as the app stores approve them – that part is not up to us, but it usually goes quickly.

The tests, the questions and your progress are all the same as before. It is the wrapping that is new.
